I have a 2010 flhx with no cooler will the kp oil filter cool things down even if I don,t have a cooler?
I had this package (and much more) added to my bike by Cycle Solutions and I am no where near the heat reduction promised and shown here at 90 degrees. More like 151 degrees! Bike hauls ass though. The guys did a good job and seem pretty knowledgeable but with such heat reduction claims, I expected a MUCH lower temperature reading. Rear cylinder is reading only about 350 degrees which isn't bad for a 110 motor but damn…151 degrees on a ceramic coated header is hot when you are in traffic. Running a Rush 2:1 exhaust, Thundermax, Feulings Red Shift 575 cams and dual piston cam tenshioners, Fueling HP Lifters, K&P Filter, GLS Ultimate AC, 58mm Throttle body, 50wt oil. So ….wtf? If that 103 just ran at 90 degrees, I should be running maybe 10 degrees warmer not 50 degrees warmer. Maybe she's running too lean? Hate not to trust CS's dyno tune.I'll have to check her out. Its not too too bad but I cant put the lowers on like I expected and one reason I did half the work. Damn….
90 deg. with heat shields. I doubt the actual head pipe is even close to that..
Why do people worry about engine heat..??? Why are there so many products to lower engine heat..???
Everyone bitches about the heat on these bikes, I've never felt like I was being cooked by my engine anymore than any other bike engine does on a hot day. A sport bike fuckin nukes you when the fans come on when your sitting at a light.
how fine is the particulate filtration value on the cooler/filter?
Get a liquid cooled metrics. Problem solved
Well the pipes are cool. But the head is hot. the Bike is basically New. Tell me that Because the pipe is cool the motor is still Hot. Yes My leg is cool but the head is hot. Hot is hot. I would Not feel comfortable with my bike sitting there with NO air running across the jugs. But pipes are cool. So what. And the Horse power is accurate on the dyno. stock. Even with V.H. drag pipes it would produce the same amount of power. But my leg is cool. I feel your customers bike is hot. period. I don't get. its the heads that needs to be cool. Maybe Im missing something. I want My bike to run cool. air deflectors for my leg. Anyway I think that bike was abused just to prove the pipe was a cool 85 degrees. with a bump in H.P.
You are measuring the flat black cylinder paint with a 1.00 emissivity, then measuring chrome with a .05 emissivity without changing the settings on the sensor. 85 degrees is probably the wall or ceiling temperature…..
At 3:12 on the video wasn't that a fan blowing on the engine? Hmmm
I uae those thermometers at work and can never get an actual reading off of anything shiny or smooth, get a FLIR reader and you'll see the real temps. Im a welder and have to install bearings and bushings in heavy mining equipment, thats why i know.
great video. thanks for making it. i got 2018 HD Fatboy. all i get is if you do this or that you loose your warranty,I couldn't get K&N Air filter, had to buy screamin eagle brand. When there warranty is out im converting my bike.
What kills me ..I see riders wearing black ..in the heat of summer i don.t get it……what if some one could invent a cooling seat along with fans that move the heat off the heads away from the rider if possible..right.. and as your bike shuts down a cylinder in LA traffic and your stuck sucking up that Killifornia Sun during a heatwave..Nothing short of stopping under a overpass and or jumping in a dry lake..will keep your bike cool…Fact of life as a rider…Ride a night …save's on heat stroke…just my thought…
I guess i'm more concerned with what to change my MM efi to..(Carb) or HPI mmxf 46.? and run the Dynatek 2000TC Ignition System.?
I just pulled one of my k&n oil filters off the shelf and took its temperature, got a reading of 56°f in a warm room . wow it must keep my bike really cool
I bought a billet oil filter luv it!
Didnt he say at the beginning of the video that there werent any fans blowing on the motor…just the fan in the back to pull the exhaust out of the shop…when we walks up to the bike you can see a fan blowing on the motor and his pant leg rippling while he sets up
